The Guild of Agricultural Journalists of Ireland would like to offer our congratulations to fellow member James Campbell who was recently awarded his MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.
James, who retired from the Irish Farmers Journal in 2016, received his award for his contribution to agricultural journalism in Northern Ireland. He is a dedicated and respected journalist, and a strong supporter of the industry through his roles with the Guild in Northern Ireland and all Ireland. James is a former Chairman and President of the Guild of Agricultural Journalist, and has also played an important role representing Ireland at the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists (IFAJ).
James was brought up on a mixed farm in Newtownards in Co. Down and is a graduate of The Queen’s University Belfast, holding the degrees of Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Master of Agriculture in Farm Business Economics. He also has a post graduate Diploma in Agricultural Communications.
